Youth Mentoring Initiative and Fishers Youth Assistance Program have formed a new nonprofit, Fishers Youth Initiative. This combination allows us to expand reach, enhance programs, and provide a more comprehensive network of support for young people navigating life’s challenges.
The shared mission has always been to uplift and empower youth—whether through YMI’s school-based mentoring programs or FYAP’s early intervention services that connect families to critical resources. Goals for this merge include:
- Expand access to mentoring, intervention, and support services.
- Provide a centralized resource for families, educators, and community partners seeking assistance for young people.
- Strengthen collaboration among those dedicated to ensuring youth success.
FYI will continue delivering the same programs its predecessor organizations have historically provided. This includes YMI’s mentoring program, Snack Attack and the Summer Meals Program. Additionally, FYI will continue to work in collaboration with Early Intervention Advocates appointed by Hamilton County as part of the Youth Assistance Program. Staff contacts for all programs, events, and community/donation inquiries remains the same.
