September 9th is recognized as Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Awareness Day.
This day symbolizes the nine months of pregnancy and serves as a powerful reminder about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD).
Studies indicate that alcohol use during pregnancy is more common than many realize, with one out of every seven expectant individuals reporting alcohol consumption. The impact of this behavior is significant, as approximately one in twenty school-aged children are affected by a condition within the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum due to exposure to alcohol before birth.
Let’s come together to raise awareness and support for those affected by FASD on this special day of awareness!
